Stone Counter Top Products

GRANITE

Granite is a great choice if you want durability and love the unique color combinations that only Mother Nature could design. You’ll need to take time to visit the granite showroom to see your piece before any cuts are made, because the piece available will not be a perfect match to our sample!

Granite is a fine-grained natural stone that is found in many beautiful colors and patterns. It is the hardest, most durable stone. Granite is heat and waterproof, it is difficult to stain or scratch. However, granite is a noisy surface and is tough on breakables! With minimal care granite can last many years.

Many granite counter manufacturers are sealing the counter tops prior to installation, so the annual sealing by the customer is no longer necessary.  Under mount sinks are generally used with granite counter tops.

QUARTZ

If you like the look of Granite, but you’re worried about etching, quartz may be just the countertop product you are looking for. We offer Quartz countertops by Silestone. This countertop is naturally scratch resistant, as there are only three minerals harder than quartz – topaz, sapphire and topaz. Silestone is a non-porous material and is more highly resistant to stains than granite. Even a red wine or vinegar spill can be wiped with just soap and water! It does not need to be sealed to maintain its luster. Be aware however, that Quartz countertops are noisy and tough on breakables

Because Silestone is a man-made quartz product it is uniform in color, so you won’t need to see your slab before fabrication. Integrated sinks are available; they can also be used with an undermount sink!

Quartz wins the prize for being the most durable, maintenance-free countertop on the market at this time! So be sure you like the color you’ve chosen, as it will last a very long time.

ENGINEERED MARBLE

A new kid on the block, Portofino, an engineered marble product is now available from Home & Office Cabinetry. Portofino offers an affordable alternative to natural stone. It is more consistent in color and stronger than natural marble. The combination of beauty and durability makes Portofino a perfect choice for your project. An under-mount sink bowl is used in an engineered marble counter top.

Portifino is generally considered a good choice for the bathroom. It is not recommended for kitchens as it is a softer stone product than granite or quartz.
